Brunette, Brunette . . .Our Scarlett Was Brunette . . . What Say You, Dear Rhett ? ?

Let’s give it up for our Dark Haired Beauties

Lately, there seems to be so much focus on blonde or platinum blonde hair that we almost forget about all those gorgeous brunettes out there.  Brunette hair comes in so many different shades of brown, from the deepest, richest dark to chestnut, to honey brown. There has always been something mysterious about dark haired beauties. And do blondes really have more fun? The answer is NO! I can tell you from experience, blondes are high maintenance, especially when your hair is naturally dark like mine. There are a few Boost and Burst semi-permanent colors that could either enhance or tone your beautiful brunette hair. Keep in mind, these are color depositing shampoos and conditioners that will eventually wash out.

Boost Shampoo and Burst Conditioner are both great for delivering semi-permanent pigment on top of the hair strands, and with Burst being a conditioner, you can leave it on for as long as you like as it conditions the hair while helping you reach your desired color or tone.

Café Azul – This is a gorgeous brown (blue base) that will remove any orange tones....excellent for Latino's or any damn person, orange is a very common complaint!

Cashmere Chocolate –  Is a rich deep chocolate brown with a bit of ash (green base) which will fight those annoying reddish tones that sometimes show up, especially after lightening your natural brown.

H.Ash Brown – This a deep rich brown (deeper green base) that will really cool down those reds.'

Note: Please careful if you have any yellow blonde pieces or highlights as they will turn green with blue or green based colors.

Chocolate Mauve - Is a great option to enhance your brunette hair with purple-red-rose  tones.

Chrome Chocolate – Is an excellent silvery chocolate that is really hot right now, takes that brown hair to an Ashy -Icy brown

Hanalei – is a wonderful color for the lighter brunettes (violet/blue base) that will fight gold/brass in brunettes.

Not 50 Shades of Gray but, 100 Shades of Gray.......Gone! (BOOST & BURST weekend SALE)

OR .......................
How To Grow Gray Hair Out
from years of Hair Color ...
Goal: to natural/virgin
without a Lot Of  Headaches ?
Lets Face It There Are Just Times When You No longer Want to Continue To Fight That Battle ! !
Pastel Hair color Looks Divine on Any Age !

 Everyone is asking and I am a Answering . . . . .

Just Use BOOST and BURST and the process will take care of itself!

We have 2 new colors:
No.Mo.Brass
&
Hanalei
Which both came from a special request last week, after we made them, we all agreed they needed to go on the line-up.

These colors are actually to help out those of you with annoying brass/gold/blorange......which I had been avoiding because I had truly hoped that I have taught everyone how to have brass-free hair, but I hear that just is not the case ! There really is no reason in the world for it so please join the group and begin asking questions, I will help you directly - especially if you Post the KILLER 18 Questions (they're easy) answers just Google "Killer 18 questions".

But for those that still struggle with those annoying tones, I wanted you to have our products because I have not found a line that lasts as long as ours or that has the range of colors we do. I would encourage you to give our line a try if you have not yet.
I just continue to receive phone calls from all of you with a new ZEST for your hair color. Letting your gray grow out and trying Rose or one of the many pastels we offer in BOOST AND BURST...........just makes me so proud of everyone. It really does.

We have a couple new colors that actually came to us in a "custom color request", that we all fell in love with - so thank you for that my dear. Brilliant !

One is called:  NO-MO-BRASS, which comes in BOOST and BURST and works on ANY colored hair that has GOLD or Brass in it that you no longer want to see. Seems like an obvious choice, but we brushed right over that. Say you have Level 8 thru 12 Blonde hair that isn't quite as ICY as u would like :
  • NO-MO-BRASS is your color
Say You have bleached your hair and there is gold or brass that just isn't Icey enough for you
  • NO-MO-BRASS is your color
Then lets just imagine there are some light brunettes out there that get hints of brass/gold/ or blorange and they want help getting rid of those annoying tones..........we now have - I would encourage you to use Illumina's hair color in 8/69 if you haven't - as well.

  • Hanalei.......a Light brown with a blue/violet base
..............perfect for fighting any annoying tones for the lighter brunettes.............if you have light brown hair that you would like not to have ANY Brass/Gold/or Blorange of ANY type that is where you would need  HANALEI. The thing about BOOST and BURST and why they are not just another "purple shampoo". We make our line by hand, with unique/strong and more accurate pigment - so if you want to you can leave the color on for an hour or 2 . . .............WITH a Foil Cap on.............using a hair dryer ( we have a great hooded travel hair dryer for $16.bucks) ...........and that color will help you grow out your gray without any problems at all
Now if you are one of the many people considering growing your gray out..............

I would encourage you to give it a try. . . I hear of so many that are just having a blast wearing pastel hair color.....with BOOST & BURST you can use them to apply to your colored hair while the process takes place. You can do it yourself in your own home at your own pace.  So many of you are beginning to read this Blog and remember I have been writing it for a decade so there are a lot of good things to absorb. I would encourage everyone to read the whole thing. PLEASE............DO NOT LET READING GO BY THE WAYSIDE..........

Now to get through the "grow-out" period, the color you choose depends on many things....If you want my opinion or any of our group members opinions I encourage you to join our FACEBOOK GROUP.
Why does it depend on many things?
Because some of you have 20% Gray some have 80% , some have brown hair mixed in with gray......some don't ......which is one of the more common questions I get.
For that particular set of problems you have a couple choices. You can either use Chrome Chocolate (which is a beautiful Silver/Brown), which is the most popular choice OR Silver Bullet for a more Silvery look.
To be perfectly frank you can truly use any color you like and what these colors do:
.............is blend the demarcation line from your virgin hair color to your colored hair color. The tint in these are strong enough to cover gray if you leave them on long enough.

Which gives you an easy way to check and see if that option is what you want to try.

Silver hair is the number 1 color of hair.............people want right now................and YOU already have it ! You should hear what some of these kids go through to achieve a beautiful metallic silver................and again - YOU ! ! !  !  already HAVE IT !

The thing about BOOST & BURST is...........they are what a TRUE - AUTHENTIC Semi-Permanent Hair Color is.
Authentic Semi-permanent hair color is hair color that does NOT have developer used to mix and apply. Semi-permanent hair color is hair color that can be shampooed out with absolutely NO LINE OF DEMARCATION.
Or, in other words........if you have  2 bottles or 2 tubes or 2 types of powder and another liquid.....of Any type that you have to mix together to apply to your hair, you are using permanent hair color. As long as you use developer, your Virgin hair color is altered.
BOOST and BURST - will NOT.........DO...........THAT !   They are TRUE authentic Semi-permanent Hair Color that we continue to make in large batches by hand. There is nothing like hand -made products in my opinion. Have you ever had a hand-made cake versus a store bought cake?

OMG the difference is HHHHHHHHHuge

So, those crap-in-a-box hair colors that you get at the drug store that print Semi-permanent on the box are downright lying.... These big corporations print whatever they think will sell on the box, not listening to what is correct and honest.....it is maddening to me ( as you might be able to tell).
We have the FDA but they just won't go up against L'Oreal , etc about labeling....I mean I would rather them fight the drug wars than worry about labels but somebody has to informa the public what is TRUE AND HONEST....

But anyway, I just want you to learn the truth and have honest - real education about your hair and the color that goes on it. A lot of you are developing sensitivities to hair color............BOOST and BURST will help solve these problems for you. You can play with them and even if you change your mind. These are 100% shampoo-out hair color. You simply begin using regular shampoo and remember YOU HAVE THE CONTROL of your color.

The brightness of it..........depends on how long you leave it on. . . and how frequently you apply it. I have heard of 101 different ways people are using it. But to grow your hair color out and begin having some of the beautiful pastels like on the ladies above, I mean......what could be more fun! ? !?!?!?

Once your silver is grown out it is almost like having bleached hair, because as you see in the photo above they have applied a pastel semi-permanent color for fun directly on top of their silver hair.....
you can wear one color for 1 week......then another color 3 weeks later....and then when you don't want to color for a while just begin using regular shampoo - we even have BOOST and BURST in a color called PURE.............which means PURE WHITE !

HAPPY NEW HAIR one and ALL

We have a beautiful new addition to our wonderful BOOST & BURST team.

Along with the BURST SPARKLE we have had for a while, this version has triple the infusion of micro-glitter. We have found this works well if you can get away without blow drying your hair. Also we have found with certain

Makes sense right? Using 100 mile an hour wind - close-up, from a blow-dryer on the hair is for sure, going to blow the teeny tiny micro-glitter off. But it sure looks cool if you can get away with it. I found when I used it and twisted my hair into the beachy waves look I talk about in one of my Posts, it works great!

Then there is a second way it works wonderfully... if you don't have coarse hair, coarse is the hair that is super thick. . .  it takes holding the curling iron on it for 3 minutes and it still barely holds the curl !.....so if you don't have that then you are also a great candidate for the  "force-be-with-you SHOT OF GLITTER" ! !

Happy New Hair to all of you

BOOST & BURST - Killerstrands Own Color Enhanced Shampoos & Conditioners

I now want to talk about our new Best Selling products - Boost & Burst.

I received this awesome email today and couldn't be more pleased, I just feel that it will help to explain Boost & Burst to you - a helluva lot better than I can !

Dear Killerstrands & KC,
I absolutely love Boost and Burst. I recently went silver after twenty years of  coloring my hair various shades of red. For the previous few months I had been sporting an intense red color with a bodacious swoosh of yellow in the bangs area. My colorist did an amazing job of gently removing the coloring and lightening/toning, then lightening/toning and so on until it was time for the final toning. It looked amazing except that the bodacious yellow (an Aveda color) would not completely disappear. So - think gorgeous silver hair with a funky yellowish bangs swoosh. She toned it nicely at first with a charcoal-ish low light, but as that slowly faded I was back to the weird yellowish thing where my bangs are.

I bought Boost and Burst in silver bullet and did the extended time/dryer thing with just the funky yellow bangs area and it worked!! Just for giggles, I bought Violet Pilot and am having a total blast changing up the hue and intensity of my haircolor every week. I would love to play with more colors but I can't seem to get a drop down menu on your Burst and Boost page on your website. The only like to purchase anything on that page is to purchase a hairdryer. Please let me know how to get to a menu for those products that I can click on and order, as I am having more fun with your Burst and Boost products than I have with anything else in years.

The plus of all of this is that I am no longer tethered to the professional colorist's chair every 21 days. Somehow, at my "big decision" appointment, she managed to intuit (ok I did let it grow out a bit and looked like a red skunk when I went in) what my natural gray looked like and masterfully achieved it. I have not seen a root in 2 months and a whole new area of adventure has opened up to me using your tinted shampoos and conditioners. Please let me know how to easily order more--you see, in addition to having a blast with your cooler toned colors, I still have a huge redhead wardrobe and would like to play with some of your warmer tones.  Thank you for being the fabulous innovator that you are. You have made many people very happy--I have many girlfriends who have asked for the link to your site after seeing my hair.

( p.s. I explained in detail how to purchase all the various colors and if anyone else has this problem please always - always speak- up! ). . . .KC

BURST & BOOST are on one page for convenience

Please notice that the top half of the choices on the page are 'BOOST' the shampoo & on the bottom half are 'BURST' the COLORED conditioner. These products are of PROFESSIONAL GRADE and are unlike anything you have ever tried in the past....... there is a unique pigment that KC has found in her travels throughout the cosmetic chemist industry.
If you are looking for the one with the most, its BURST - the conditioner. BURST can truly be used to cover up grays' in your new growth for all you Brunette's and Redheads!........when purchasing you receive 'one' when you place one in your cart..... The shampoo is color safe + SULFATE FREE Shampoo and Conditioner is made for color treated hair as well.

Boost & BURST can be used for many reasons, the Top 5 reasons they are flying off the shelves :
  1. Have You seen the "new" Rose-Gold Blonde Look everyone is clamoring for?.....Well
Rose-Angel can create the look without having to even get your hair colored! You can play around with how dark or light you want it by how long you leave Boost & BURST on, then when you want it removed......just stop using them and use regular shampoo.........yep its that simple to take them out!
  2. Making some of the many beautiful Pastel hair colors that are so popular - by washing with BOOST & then applying BURST and leaving in for 2-5-10 minutes depending completely on the look you desire. They have LOTS of pigment in them, so they are professional grade and this is how the pro's create the pastel that have been in affect for 20 years!
  3. Breaking Bad BLUE is very popular for 2 completely different reasons....1) fights BLORANGE in brown or blonde hair....its always good to conquer the reason for the Blorange ( lightener has not been left on long enough or a too weak blonding product used for the darkness of hair), Remember the color opposing the the tone you want to eliminate is your goal. Blorange....so opposite orange is BLUE on the Color Wheel - therefore blue tinted products are excellent for eliminating that tonal category.
  4. Silver Bullet is our # 1 Seller for many reasons.....YES it will tint Level 10-12 Blonde's = Silver. So you can achieve the new fashionable silver haired look and keep up the color fresh and new. For those of you with Silver hair ........you can really make it look true-shiny & silvery by using both Boost & BURST in Silver Bullet !
  5. Killer Copper can be used as a filler ......if you are moving from a Blonde to a brunette or redhead. I'm sure you have heard the term "filler", I receive many calls asking about that product and process, well here is your answer in one step. Purchase Killer Copper in BURST, Run the Shampoo Train on your hair for a few times, apply the Malibu Color Correction packet, then apply BURST for 20 - 30 minutes. Rinse lightly - - getting the excess color out. Towel dry, then dry completely. . . Then Apply your Brunette Or Redhead Color, KOPPER returns the warmth of your hair in the hair strands without the use of developer and its very easy to do this way. Filling the hair is ALWAYS a 2 Step process.
Have BLORANGE? We have Breaking Bad Blue Shampoo & Conditioner,

no longer is it just Violet no longer is it a shampoo only ! Both are 8ounces of Fun!

Change your mind use regular shampoo for a few days...! This is true Semi-Permanent hair color - FINALLY

Do you wish silver hair or rose colored hair purchase BURST the colored conditioner and apply after shampooing, play around with the processing time. They all have a lot of pigment in them, therefore, experiment at first.
FACEBOOK Review: by Summer: .............." I use the beach beige shampoo every day on my platinum hair and it looks awesomely beigey. Takes the yellow tones right out. Get this stuff! It washes out pretty quickly with regular shampoo"

These products are unlike any you have tried in the past..They are what are used for hair shows & photo shoots. KC has been making them custom like this for nearly 20 years. This makes them have more pigment than anything else you've ever tried, which means you need very little. When you first time them both start with a minute or 2 and work your way up....you can use gloves and with BURST we do include 1 pair.

KC prefers not to use gloves so keeps a bottle of kitchen cleaner with Bleach in the formula, squirts a shot of that, a shot of soap in her hands washes them & they are sparkling clean, which is another solution. You will always want the hair wet prior to applying either product & THEY CAN ALWAYS BE REMOVED BY USING THE SHAMPOO TRAIN procedure which you can Google!

Blue conquers those of you with Gold, Orange & Blorange undertones OR the real beauty of this is using it for artistic reasons. Such as you see in the photo on this page.... if you have an ombre as in the photo (the ends are blonde) apply to the ends leave on longer {everyone is different?}
Poof !
You have a blue hint to the blonde/hair........
Here are ways to make it darker:
  • shampoo in - leave on longer
  • leave on with plastic cap, the cap creates heat - the heat helps deposits MORE pigment into the strands
  • Use shampoo & Conditioner
  • Use every time you you shampoo
  • Leave both on longer and use both every time ( be careful- go in small increments- don't worry its easy to get out)
Ways to make it lighter:
  • leave it on less time
  • Only use once a week using other shampoos during week
  • Use lousy crappy Sulfate Shampoo - leave the shampoo on the hair for longer
  • Use one of the Malibu 2000 Color Correction packets - works great !
  • Do NOT use Vanish on this it is not needed nor does it work, Vanish only works on Oxidative hair color

For Blondes... I encourage you to chose Beige or violet if you are looking for a nice color.

  • Violet - the most common choice, eliminates brass and keeps blondes from dipping back in to the 'brass, yellow or lighter goldspool til your next color. Remember to use a Toner when Coloring. This is for in between coloring or slight imperfections of blondes. Then if your hair is completely Blond you may also leave these on for  10-30 minutes and POOF you will have the new pastel hair color, the biggest thing in the hair color category in: 2015 !  So these can do both remember....... they can tone down those annoying 'undertones' that pop through (DURP) many times a couple weeks after you have colored . These have a deeper color than other tinted shampoos you have used. You control the amount of color deposited by the amount of time you leave the shampoo on, it's that easy!
