Confessions of a Brow Coloring Addict : Killerstrands Custom Kit to Tint Yo Brows ! !

Random Grey Hairs Messing Up Eyebrow Shape?

Purchase :
BEST eyebrow Tint Kit :
$24.95

 - Professional tint; all the secrets revealed

One of the more coveted "trix of the trade": the formula for tinting eyebrows
A woman's eyebrows begin the trek downhill starting about age 20, sad but true. The thickness declines, the shape grows wildly out of control and soon those dreaded greys sprout.

Recently, a longtime client of mine relayed her woes of making an appointment with one of the famous Eyebrow shapers in Beverly Hills. The appointment took 4 months, the cost ? $100.00 for shape and $75.00 to tint a soft beige-brown ! That was the point I decided my formula was making its debut on Killer Strands - The BLOG! I could not believe the price had gotten that high, ridiculous utterly ridiculous. It still amazes me that she even went to the woman, because this girl does not have enough eyebrows to know whether the Eyebrow Queen from Bulgaria or the dog had shaped them....they are just too thin.Tinting your brows at home is really something that should be taught in high school health class. It is a necessity and its simple, although we who invented the art kind of treated it as though we had discovered the cure for cancer! Ridiculous again! Its handy little chore...i hope you all enjoy.

If you have been coloring in your brows with pencil or powder, this is permanent although not permanent like Tattoos. It lasts a month, you can change shades to match different hair colors...when you go lighter in the summer and darker in the fall. Tint your brows once a month at your convenience it fills-in where there are gaps because it dyes the tiny hairs on your face even if the brow hair is gone ( a common problem of the over 35 set).

I will tell you that in all my years of coloring I never once bleached anyone brows - the people that have black ones will sometimes, then re-dye them light brown....but that is a whole different Post I will someday tackle.

For $24.95 you receive: INCLUDING ( the best part) a detailed diagram of how to trim the brows SUCCESSFULLY.
  1. 2 tubes of permanent Hair Color - just submit the color you would like them to be and the color they are - we will appropriate formula
  2. 1 bottle of peroxide - 20 Volume
  3. small spoon and brow brush to apply color.
  4. Diagram & explanation > trick to trimming Brows..........this Kit will last minimum 2 years!
How peroxides work again:

10 Volume : Deposits color only
20Volume: Deposits Color and lifts 1 shade of color
30Volume: Lifts 2-3 shades of color then deposits
40 Volume: Lifts 3-4 shades of color then deposits

I recommend 20 volume Peroxide

Directions:
Make yourself up a small kit for eyebrows....
You will be doing this 1-2X a month, once you see how cool it is.

Layout a towel in the bathroom, One paper cup used to mix the color. Mix the color according to the directions ON THE BOX OF COLOR.... every line has a different ratio of color to peroxide.

Koleston Perfect which is best for covering gray: 1 Part Color to 1 part developer

Once ordered I will finalize the 2nd tube of color with you and how to mix the exact formula . This Kit will last you 1-2 years and if you change your hair color then you change 1 of your tubes of color. I've been doing this to my clients for many years I feel it should be part of the hair coloring service- - I am sure that is one

Its $24.95 for one kit and I will contact you as soon as the sale has been registered to finalize your custom colors. You are going to LOVE THIS, it rocks!

The best part of the Kit is...........it teaches you how to make effective hair color in very small batches so this Kit you purchase will last a very long time and you will not be washing hair color down the sink. That was one of the most important tricks I learned at Academy - they emphasized how much hair cost and how if you were economical with it then you would make more money. So this works for you , if you save on how much hair color you use , you won't have to purchase it as often, therefore SAVING YOU Money as well!

good luck and I hope your bows become nice and full and beautiful after trying this trick !

  1. Would you recommend tinting eyebrows everytime you change hair color? I've never tinted my brows before but have always been interested in it. I mean, when they start to grow out a little can you tell the difference in color (like grow out or "roots")? Should you color the eyebrows the same color as your hair or a little darker? I have so many questions, sorry!!

  2. Just wanted to say thank you again for posting this - tinted my brown/grey brows again last night - about $.25 of product (dollop of pro color & 10V developer) and I have beautiful brows, no more grey, in my "lowlight" shade 7N. THANK you... saw those expensive eyebrow kits at the store and cruised on by... Probably need to try your oil bleach and toning process with my hair - not looking for platinum (I'm really a 6-7 to start with) but HATE the slight brassy yellow I got at the roots this time. THanks again... your big fan Nikki!

  3. Thanks so much! Its so insulting how haor colorists act like everyone is too stupid to realize they can color their own eyebrows...you just have to be careful!
Anyway, Ive been using hydrogen peroxide for a while on my dark brown eyebrows (I have extremely pale skin) to lighten them, and sometimes it gets reddish and my friend noticed and said they looked weird :( Yet I cannot fork over $15 for some lady to do it.
I cut my own hair and everything so now I can do that, and my pale as hell skin will look better with brown hair and LIGHT brown eyebrows.
    Love you!!

  5. anonymous,
Not everyone can afford the prices, what colorists need to realize is that the people that want to have it done " STILL WILL"....that just does not mean that the rest of you cannot do it.
There are millions that should also be able to do it to themselves.

    I finally realized this.

    NO NO NO NO

THIS SITE IS DEDICATED TO TRYING TO TEACH AMERICA TO TOSS OUT THE HAIR COLOR KITS. THEY ARE DANGEROUS, THEY WILL DESTROY YOUR HAIR, YOUR SKIN. THEY ARE SET UP TO FAIL.
    NO NO NO
DO NOT USE HAIR COLOR KITS FOR ANYTHING EVER AGAIN.

THE GOAL OF THIS SITE IS TO TEACH YOU ALL TO GO TO YOUR LOCAL BEAUTY SUPPLY,(SALLYS IS FINE) BUY A TUBE OF COLOR AND A SMALL BOTTLE OF PEROXIDE.... USE THE WELLA - COLOR CHARM LINE FOR THE BEST PERFORMANCE. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE SALES PEOPLE - I'VE TESTED THEM FOR YOU. THE PROBLEM WITH THEIR KITS, IS THEY ARE DESIGNED TO FAIL SO YOU HAVE TO GO BUY ANOTHER ONE TO FIX THE MESS YOU MADE WITH THE FIRST ONE.
    PLEASE
    PROMISE ME
    YOU WILL
    NEVER EVER
    BUY ONE OF THOSE
    AGAIN

i HAVE TAUGHT HOW TO USE THOSE ON THIS SITE - I HAVE SPENT HOURS OF MY TIME TRYING TO TEACH YOU ALL HOW TO USE THE COLOR IF YOU WERE TO PURCHASE IT SEPARATELY AS i AM EXPLAINING.
ITS VERY SIMPLE YOU JUST NEED TO UNDERSTAND THE LEVEL SYSTEM OF HAIR COLOR...
WHICH I EXPLAIN IN BABY STEPS.
PLEASE GO BACK AND READ IT.
    PLEASE.

    ANY QUESTIONS?

  7. Haha...you were right..last night I DID use the nice n easy and did a test strand to see, and it just made my hair darker so its almost black. I got pissed and called for a refund today. Came back to read this and follow what you say here!

Aside from if you want to dye your hair black, or pink, which I did a few yrs ago, which are easy, It does seem like a crazy conspiracy with those box colors! Its like this 1 subject, hair color, theres not the best info on and they want to keep the public--of women-- in the dark. I dont understand it. Salons do like a lot of money.

It is really hard to figure out how to get the shade you want, but Im going to Sallys now to lighten my even darker brows--hopefully right :)

  8. Anonymous,

    this is a Hair BLOG.
Which to me means that it is an on going teaching tutorial for those men and women interested in learning how to color their hair, eyebrows, etc. the professional way.
Which means it is not learned in 2 minutes and by "guessing"

There is theory and chemistry behind all the applications that must be learned here. You have it wrong...There is a reason they require a full year of schooling to become a hair stylist and its not just to charge money, I promise you. There is a lot of rules, theories and standards that must be learned in order to accomplish what the PROS do, and if you don't want to take the time to learn that, then I wouldn't suggest doing these procedures yourself...you are going to do more damage than good, and this is not the place.

I started these 2 Blogs from a place deep in my heart of wanting to help and teach the world of hair color and hair to people that really care about learning.

Learning the chemistry, learning the level system, learning the color wheel.....Not just a wham BAM LETS TRY ANY OLE THING, if we can....hair free-for-all...

    That would be somewhere else.
    Someone else's web site.....

    not mine.

  9. Not to worry, I dont scorn them. I understand they have to learn a lot, but Im a Biology student and I wish I had time to learn about hair coloring like they do, nor could I express in a couple paragraphs on a blog that Ive experimented with my hair the last 5 yrs, and whenever I ask questions to a colorist like what *exactly* is my natural color and how is what theyre doing working, they never explain it in exact terms, thats why I was saying its some kind of conspiracy...its like none of them would want me to know that its kind of simple to mix up my color. I took chem. No disrespect!

I have friends that just got out of beauty school and are excited to start making tons of money from it, good for them, Im just trying very hard to learn for myself to do it, and I always research as best I can.

  10. Could you maybe delete my last few comments? I feel like kind of an idiot and like I was criticizing you when you were just helpful. and I dont want my mom to see that when I show her. and i hate silly inane arguments on blogs :/
do you have an email address?

I read every single post now, and I am really happy to have learned the basics. If I comment now theyll be more constructive...

  11. I want to purchase the eye brow tinting kit and obviously it is quite safe. But just wondering why so many hair colorists, and also at one time Jolen bleach, cautioned against using bleach on the eye brows because it can cause blindness? Are there any cautions one should know about before using this brow coloring kit?

Also wondering if you sell Wella Koleston Perfect Pure Naturals on your site and if so, where can I find that section on on your website? I have colored my hair very light blonde (originally brunette) but have gray resistant hair and it never covers around the front portion/sides.

Thank you for the wonderful and amazing information, resources and contributions you are continuously sharing with those who can't afford expensive salons but still want to do their best to look good. You are truly a gift to all of us!

  12. So im confused? How do you tint your brows if they are dark brown to dark blond? [with no grays]
    20v only lightens one shade?

Do you just use 40v? Or jolen? Can you tint them? I thought you said that you cannot tint brows in the jolen post?
