L'ANZA.Who are they ?? ?It may not seem like it, but I spend a lot of time and effort researching what I present to you in the Killerstrands Store. Every single item that is in that store would be in my Salon, and I would be actively using and recommending to my clients. I didn't have to, my work spoke for itself. But, I just feel that it is very important for my credibility, to recommend products at the same level of expertise that I had. Same with the Killerstrands store. People will call and ask me to choose my favorite shampoo for them.... I swear to you, I love every one. . . I suppose I could (and probably should) carry all the products that are marketed to reach the public ... they do that so you will come into the Salon and ASK for them. But, that is all part of the ridiculous system of keeping the top quality products out-of-your-hands.
There is just so much more than meets-the-eye, when I bring you products of any kind. I always want to stand by the products I recommend, I'm not too sure that everyone sells top quality products as opposed to the one's that spend the most on Advertising.. I guess good advertising does work.
You know whats funny though, as a result of the advertising - I work the opposite way. . .and I encourage you to do the opposite as I have never heard of one instance where my theory is not correct. All great lines of products are small and and have 1 owner who truly cares about what goes in those bottles, so that is what I hunt for in the absolutely ridiculous amount and array of hair care lines that are out there.
There are so many of you that try so hard to understand haircolor theory....and I can just tell its like I am speaking Greek to you. I am hoping that the brilliant way L'ANZA has set up their color line might completely make sense of the nonsensical way that hair color works. Today in our illustrious Forum...there were a couple questions that I hope will help display the reasoning of how it works.
Hair Color as I have said many times is a formula. It is NOT guesswork, as I see so many hair stylists treat it as. You MUST use the rules of this formulation in order to get the DESIRED results. Using these rules does not mean every single person can have any hair color they want. Nope it just isn't that magical at this point. Its funny in the last 60 years Hair Color chemistry has not changed much at all.
L'Anza has over 70 shades of hair color with 6 dedicated developers offering unlimited flexibility and full spectrum. Now this is the part that I believe you may have a hard time understanding and I want questions with this post I will get to them I PROMISE!l
Now what these very smart Californians have done with their system (every company has a different system) is to use the SAME tube of Hair Color........across the board. Now, this particular Color is the only hair color that heals, seals and protects using exclusive Flower Shield Complex and Keratin Healing System for richer, longer-lasting color.
Now, this line of color is different than any other color what you can do is use 1 tube of hair color with any of the 6 developers.
Translucent
Demi-Permanent
10 Volume
20 Volume
30 Volume
40 Volume __________________________
Lets say you have Level 7.5 color with 25% Gray - - ( I believe there is such a difference from 1 level to the next...many times I will formulate for that 'half shade'.)
-- Now if the gray is brand new - and its not very resistant to covering, so it covers easily ....I would choose formula # 1....
-- if the gray on that hair is resistant and does not stay covered for the entire 6 weeks then Formula #2 should be used.
--Now, if this same person had NO gray & just wanted to refresh their own color. . . you could use Formula #3
FORMULA #1 : 7/0N + 8/71P + Demi-Permanent - V { mixing an "8" and a "7" will give you a 7.5 }
FORMULA #2 : 7/0N + 8/71P + 20Volume
FORMULA #3 : 7/0N + 8/71P + Translucent
Does that make sense to you . . .??? if it does or doesn't . . . please leave a comment so I can decipher their color system for you.
This is the same exact way every line would work and I dare them all to try this, it makes SO MUCH SENSE.
This collection features 73 fabulous shades, 6 dedicated Developers, Powder Lightener, Color-Cleansing Shampoo, and complete color accessories.
Now what this chart is trying to show you is how each color can be used with a different developer, the developer "LEVEL" is what determines what type of color you end up with.
I think its hard for many people to understand, but the type of color you are using is determined by the Volume of developer you mix the color to and this line show you that. So many of you are used to the "old' way of formulating hair color.... today it is more simple.
If you took a tube of " Demi-Permanent" hair color and used 40 Volume hair color - - POOF - - you now have made it permanent hair color.
BECAUSE you used 40 Volume.
Just because the tube of color says it is Demi-permanent that is not what determines it to be that type of color. The Volume of the developer is the determining factor.
Make sense?
Therefore, when I began to study up on L'Anza, I was very mad at myself for not learning about it a very long time ago . Finally a line that understands how hair color works. It has always been about the developer's Volume....we finally have a line that gets it!
There
does not need to be the word printed on a tube of color that says
Demi-permanent, beCAUSE - you can work any line of color this exact same
way.
